In Duel Links, Resonators is what I affectionatly call a "Master Duel Simulator". Going first it can make an auto-win board off of a one-card-combo (Loading... ) that many decks can't deal with easily. It's also worth mentioning that this combo is very weak to cards like Loading... and Loading... , so running Loading... can prove effective (even if Loading... 's existence is still prevalent). Resonators are expected to be one of the most dominant decks this KC Cup.
I personally have no doubt that Resonators are the strongest deck in the current meta. Going first, they have the ability to represent 4-6 interruptions (with good hands having the ability to produce more). Breaking through Loading... , Loading... , Loading... , Loading... , and Loading... is incredbly hard for most decks, especially for HEROs and Gemini (even more so if theres Loading... protection). It's also strong going second, since the SKill also sets a free Loading... to your field. Loading... is also quite valuable going second, since it destroyes all Attack Position monsters while also providing a free RDA. That all being said, Resonators are not impossible to stop: HEROs can stun them out with floodgates, Lyrilusc can bypass destruction with Loading... (which means that Loading... and Loading... will be important for the Lyrilusc Matchup). Despite this however, I still think that Resonators have the highest potential for greatness in this upcoming KaibaCorp Cup.
Resonators can consistently make really oppressive end-boards Turn 1 off of just Loading... , requiring techs or custom hands to break. It's worth mentioning that this combo is extremely weak into Loading... (although some hands can play trhough this regardless).
Going seconds, Resonators can struggle against certain boards, sometimes requiring cards like Loading... to negate problematic monsters like Loading... or dodge targeted interruption from the likes of Loading... and Loading... . That being said, I expect Resonators to do well this KC Cup.
Even though Salamangreat is still really strong post-Banlist, it struggles in pure engine matches, making Resonators a really scary deck with its double Spell negate (denying Loading... 's ability to dodge). Loading... also puts on a lot of pressure, since banishing Loading... is game-ending. However if Salamangreat opens techs, the matchup becomes really hard for Resonators, since the Salamangreat engins is quite strong into its weaker boards.
Resonators' peformance last week has lead to its promotion as one of the most playable and successfull decks. Its first turn is hard to break through and its going second capability is decent (with Loading... being able to negate the opponent's boss monster most of the time). Loading... and Loading... both have the capability to wipe your opponent's boards in certain circumstances. Handtraps like Loading... and Loading... hurt the deck, but it can still end on decent boards despite them. In conclusionm Resonators seem to be a dominant deck as we enter the KC Cup.
With their newly added modern TCG support combined with a decent Skill that generates tools out of thin air, it's no surprise that Resonators became Tier 1. Setting up complex multifaceted boards that are hard to break, this deck is destined to be the most-represented deck in the Top 100 of the KC Cup.
