Notes & Combos
Hey everyone! Your favorite Altergeist content creator is back at it again with a brand new decklist for the September 2024 KC Cup. This was ironically my easiest KC Cup to max climb I've ever done, completing the whole run in merely 52 wins, which is a lot faster than my KoG run this season, which took me 59 wins. That being said, I did change up my decklist for this KC Cup run compared to my September 2024 King of Games run and I'll explain what cards I changed below.
First off, I dropped Needle Ceiling because it's just not good into the plethora of Lyriluscs that I kept facing. Needle Ceiling was replaced by the Counter Trap that I think a lot of people are sleeping on, Debunk. I honestly believe Debunk definitely pulled its weight because it actually made the Lyrilusc matchup bearable since literally everything they have activates from the hand. You just handrip them with Debunk and their follow-up, and their endboard, is quite weak. Don't sleep on Debunk, it's a great Counter Trap to be playing right now. It even hits Star Seraph Sovereignty and also Suship if you're against them. The Regulation of Tribe is also great at not getting OTK'ed to birds.
Next, we get to my limit 3 options. Obviously, Compulsory Evacuation Device is still the best limit 3 staple to run in this deck, but I was getting bored running x3 Compulsory so I wanted to change things up a bit and give you guys a new decklist. As such, I changed one Compulsory for the card Rin used in the Arc-V anime, Lost Wind. Cutting a monster's attack in half actually did come up against a Chronomaly player by essentially neutering his Vimana so Lost Wind is actually not that bad.
Finally, we get to my Extra Deck. Everything is standard, except Lyrilusc Ensemblue Robin and Time Thief Perpetua. Ensemblue Robin I threw in there as a memory to this annoying Lyrilusc meta and Time Thief Perpetua I threw in there because my friend (and fellow Time Thief main), Rize, motivated me a lot on this climb to maxing with the deck I am known for, Altergeists. Do check out Rize if you haven't already, as he is literally the best Time Thief player I've ever met.
My past five games were consisted of Lyrilusc (Lulu), Lyrilusc (Lulu), Star Seraph (Dumon), Gunkan Suship (Dumon), and Chronomaly (Trey).
To close out this KC Cup 2024 season, also be on the lookout for my Altergeist Guide going up on my YouTube channel in the next few days if you want to learn the deck from the best player on it, myself. =)
Replays
As for replays, I guess I'll post my KC Cup rankup so you can see Debunk in action against a Lyrilusc player, despite the replay being somewhat short. You can use this replay to at least get a good idea of how deadly Debunk is against Lyrilusc.
I will say though that I am happy that my waifu Ghost Gal takes her tiara at the top once again. My Queen of Traps (Ghost Gal) will continue to sit at the top of her throne.
