When struggling to find a good time to play DL ranked, what better time is there than grinding the whole thing on the final day for the second time in a row?

This climb was much cleaner than the previous month; didn't drop rank a single time, and took half as many total wins to make it through. First difference, I've improved the decklist by cutting the Forbidden Lances for Terraforming and Area Zero. The addition of these two has made going for Engage draws actually viable, as the concept was basically just a meme before, plus being able to Terraforming for Chateau is a nice bonus too.

Secondly, the skill Overlay Control is a lot better than Avaricious Bruhssing and honestly makes me feel bad about testing that thing in the first place. That being said, I found Overlay Control to be better for perhaps the wrong reason: most of the time, it was simply an extra spell to fuel my GY for Engage draws. When I wasn't doing that, it almost always just got blown up during the opponent's turn.

Its presence still definitely makes a positive difference, but for Non-Nights/Non-Striker versions of Madolche, there's definitely still an argument for continuing use of Level 5 Reload. Should prob test for more possible combo lines tho.

Unfortunately, the drawback to cutting the Lances is ironically an abysmal Striker matchup when going first. Honestly, passing on nothing might actually offer a better chance of surviving the turn than playing the game at all. Besides that, the deck feels quite competent against the current meta decks not named Sacred Beasts (handtrap spam.)

I tried to save good replays along the way this time, but I usually either decisively won or got completely washed, which prob wouldn't be that entertaining. Posted the full KoG streak plus one other replay.

Tune in next time for when I actually do the climb at a normal time during the month like everyone else. Maybe.
