Amano she better don’t!

My dead, evil virtual son is finally in Duel Links! I’m so happy because he’s one of my favorite YGO characters and he gets to use Spirits & Rituals together, two seriously underrated monster types! Im kind of kicking myself for not KOGging with this deck last month and saving SwordSoul for now because of recent banlist & support additions, but honestly I’m glad I waited to figure out this deck now because I think I would’ve liked it way less when dropping the cursed rock on everything was the main strategy. As it is, this deck is one of the few that can still make Abyss Dweller to shut down Chimera and Starlight, but I still couldn’t figure out how to beat BEWD in most situations. I chose DD Crow as my tech of choice this month and it definitely came up more than a few times.

Another full year of getting to KOG in both formats is in the books! This time, I challenged myself to KOG with a different deck every month in Speed Duels, at least, and I’m happy to say that I accomplished this task handily as a F2P duelist! Unlike last year, I don’t feel like there were any actual Tier 0 formats, though there were more than a fair share of janky FTKs (I even played one myself lol). I think going forward, I’ll not only have way more viable decks to work with as more support trickles in, but also because of the ways modern Skill design has calcified into an arms race of fishing out interactions going 2nd, we’ll all be in for some really interesting format challenges in the coming year. And I look forward to having very wrong and annoying opinions about some of them! :)))
