The decision to include more of the few battle traps that we have in the game is meant to address RR's weakness to "Set 3 Pass". By taking a more defensive, slower, shall we say, doomier playstyle we force the opponent to go on the offense. Right into our hands!
Other important notes: Feral Imp and Goat help you not instantly die to piercing, hammer crush deal actually destroys spell/traps unlike Genie's, Reincarnation is super important to help you grab the exact monster you need when need it from the GY, Widespread is another way to answer must answer threats. I found it more impactful than Negate Attack in this meta.
