Notes & Combos

Finally managed to land King of Games this season. Going to be honest, Dark Magician is much, much harder to get KoG with thanks to a fair amount of meta defining decks and cards. You can absolutely get to KoG with this deck if you push as much as possible, but you will have a very rough time. Some notes:

• Yes, for the first time in a while, I took out Dark Magician Girl. It was a hard decision, but I had to swap her out for Dark Magic Attack. Too many decks with tons of backrow, so sometimes you need to blow them all up.
• Speaking of Dark Magic Attack, Eternal Soul's effect to add it from Deck to hand surprisingly came up a number of times. It was used either to replenish my hand for discard fodder or just to grab the out and annihilate the opponent's backrow.
• Came across some Cyber Dragon decks. They can be tough to out if you don't have anything to bait Cyber Dragon Infinity's effect with.
• True Draco loves to play during your turn and people are turning it into a floodgate deck. It is not fun to play against and can quickly become a tough match if you do not have all the right cards. Field Spell is top priority removal.
• Ghostrick love being face-down and we love face-down cards even more! We don't love their Field Spell however, so get rid of it as soon as you see it.
• Can't comment on Darklords as I did not come across it yet.
• Can't comment on Predaplants as I did not come across it yet.
• Can't really comment on Odd-Eyes Wing Dragon as I only played 1 match against the deck, but Dark Paladin carried hard that match and won on the spot.
